French and Spanish Students Compete in Cooking Contest for Foreign Language Week

Juniors and Seniors Taste Test 13 Different Dishes

Level 4 French and Spanish students competed in a cooking contest on Wednesday as a fun activity to celebrate Foreign Language Week.

These juniors and seniors brought in 13 different dishes and taste tested each one, assigning them a score from 1-10 based on their presentation, taste, complexity and originality.

Dishes in the contest included tres leches cake, pastéis, shakshouka, stir fried noodles, dumplings, bala baiana (Brazilian cake), kirschtorte, Italian wedding cookies, tiramisu, rice balls, macarons, cheesecake and Mexican wedding cakes.

The winning dishes will be announced on Thursday, with prizes awarded for first, second and third place.

A special thanks to Ms. Schleining and Miss Yulfo Matos for hosting this cultural experience for their students.
