Kayleigh Butler Wins Glimmerglass Writing Contest!

Congratulations to Kayleigh Butler for winning The Glimmerglass Festival’s writing contest, and congratulations to Avelene Barber who received an honorable mention for her entry. Both entries were in the 10th-12th grade category. Participants used inspiration from Sandra Cisneros’s The House on Mango Street to write a short essay about their idea of “The House on _____ Street.”
In July during the debut of the production, the winners of the competition had the opportunity to meet Cisneros and receive signed copies of her book. They also received tickets to the world premiere of “The House on Mango Street.”
