Biannual New York State Safety Inspections Performed on Our School Buses

February 26, 2026
School buses pass New York State safety inspection

Operating at the Highest Safety Standards in the US

All of the school buses used to transport our students to and from school, sporting events and other extracurricular activities underwent their biannual New York State safety inspections on Thursday – a highly important measure to ensure every student is transported safely each day.

Twice a year, state inspectors check over 400 safety items during each inspection, ensuring all school buses in New York state operate at the highest safety standards in the country. Across the state, nearly 60,000 buses, vans and ambulettes are subject to a New York State Department of Transportation safety inspection every six months. More than 100 qualified bus inspectors are responsible for performing these inspections.

In addition to safety inspections, routine maintenance is performed on all of our school buses every month to ensure each bus is functioning at its highest level, allowing the safest transportation possible for all Cooperstown Central School students.

Rest assured that our experienced bus drivers will transport your students safely every day, no matter what kind of conditions Mother Nature throws our way!
