Skies were gray, but spirits were bright and energy levels were high as the Cooperstown 6th grade class visited SUNY Oneonta on Wednesday for a campus tour!

Students first arrived at the Welcome Center, where they were greeted by Rebecca Lynch, SUNY Oneonta's Director of Admission and Enrollment.

Rebecca explained to the 6th graders that SUNY Oneonta is a four-year college and discussed some of the differences between four-year and two-year colleges. She asked students about their favorite subjects in school and their interests outside the classroom, then highlighted how SUNY Oneonta offers many of the programs and activities they said they enjoy.

The 6th graders were then introduced to their campus tour guides for the day, all of whom were current SUNY Oneonta students. Students were divided into groups to explore the Science Discovery Center, the Planetarium and the Theatre, followed by the athletic field house, college classrooms, the library and even a residence hall.

To round out their visit, the 6th graders were treated to the full college experience with lunch in Wilsbach Dining Hall alongside many current SUNY Oneonta students.
