Junior golfer Brayden Sentz will compete in the NYSPHSAA Golf Championships at Mill Creek Golf Club in Rochester this weekend (June 6-8), marking his third consecutive trip to the state tournament.
Brayden earned his spot after finishing second at the State Qualifier Tournament on May 20-21, shooting an impressive +5 over the two-day event.
His postseason success continued at the League Medalist Tournament on May 26, where he and Thomas Hellenthal captured the team title for the Hawkeyes. Brayden also earned a second-place individual finish after an exciting two-hole playoff.
Cooperstown students will line the halls Friday afternoon to cheer on Brayden before he departs for Rochester to compete in the state championships. He will participate in Saturday’s practice round before the tournament begins on Sunday and wraps up on Monday.
Additionally, if any Cooperstown track and field athletes qualify for the state championships this week, they will join Brayden during Friday’s hallway sendoff as students gather to celebrate and wish them luck before they depart to represent Cooperstown at their respective state tournaments.
Best of luck to Brayden this weekend! We’re proud to support him as he represents Cooperstown on the state stage.
