COOPERSTOWN – The Cooperstown Central School District Board of Education appointed Nicole Conway, of Mount Upton, New York, as the District’s new Athletic Director and Assistant Principal, effective Aug. 17, 2026.
Conway is a certified School Building Leader who has worked in public education since 2013. She also holds certifications in general education, special education and physical education.
Conway began her teaching career in New York City, where she worked for five years before moving to Georgia. During her eight years in Georgia, she served as a third-grade teacher and grade chair. Most recently, she served as the program coordinator for youth basketball and kickball for Snellville Parks and Recreation in Georgia.
After returning to New York state this summer, Conway began her new role at Cooperstown Central School District.
“The opportunity to support the well-established Cooperstown Central School District, with its increasing number of scholar-athletes and the strong reputation of its athletic programs, provides an opportunity to showcase the incredible work our student-athletes are already doing while providing more opportunities and experiences for their lifelong success,” Conway said.
As a former college basketball player, Conway brings firsthand experience to her new role and looks forward to working with Cooperstown’s student-athletes, coaches, families and school community.
