On Tuesday, the Battle of the Books and Library Club members traveled to the New York State Museum in Albany for the annual competition. We celebrated 20 years of Battle of the Books!
Seven schools (Cooperstown, Roxbury, Windham-Ashland-Jewett, Canajoharie, Fort Plain, Broadalbin-Perth, and Gloversville) participated in the event. Allyson Dahlin, Fort Plain alumnus, was our guest author. She wrote the book Cake Eater, which was on the high school list. The students enjoyed her presentation which included an in-depth question and answer session.
Congratulations to our competitors. For the high school, Polly Kennedy, Jade Olinsky, Caitlin O'Sullivan, and Punya Phaugat competed, and for the middle school, Nikka De La Cuesta, Annika Murray, Ciaran O'Sullivan, and Zola Palmer competed. Both groups placed second in the regional level contests.
Readers are leaders!
