Today was the first meeting of the Principal's Book Club at the elementary school. The group is open to all students in grades 5 & 6.
We had a great afternoon celebrating our senior football players and cheerleaders at halftime of the girls soccer game vs Frankfort-Schuyler. The game is currently tied 2-2.

Third graders at CCS are learning about forces in nature in science class this week. Watermelons were exploding during this authentic learning experience.
Elementary students enjoy harvesting produce during recess. The veggies go to the cafeteria to supplement school lunches.

Thursday, October 3, 2019 (Cooperstown, NY) - CCS 7th/8th grade students had the opportunity to camp overnight in the Catskills this week. CCS Physical Education teachers Monica Wolfe and Mike Niles led students through the Kaaterskill Falls Trail and experienced North Point, Boulder Rock and the observation deck of the Kaaterskill Falls. CCS Elementary students continue to enjoy our dog therapy friends who visit classrooms on a regular basis and enhance student activities in reading, math and language. Therapy dogs provide physical, social, cognitive, emotional and environmental benefits to students throughout the building. Cooperstown Elementary School is still collecting dried-up markers to send to Crayola to be recycled into energy-efficient fuel. Used markers of any brand can be dropped off at the Elementary School to be ColorCycled. So far we have ColorCycled 6,310 markers since October 2017.
